The company began operating eight fast chargers at the Chilseo Rest Area (toward Yangpyeong) and the Geochang Rest Area (toward Daegu) on the 1st, and will sequentially bring 117 units online at 24 rest areas nationwide by the end of this month. It plans to install an additional 21 units at three rest areas by the end of the year. Of the total chargers, 85 will be North American Charging Standard (NACS)-compatible models. As a result, Tesla users can charge their vehicles without a separate adapter, and through the “PnC (Plug & Charge)” service, vehicle authentication and payment are automatically processed simply by connecting the charging connector. CHAEVI CO., LTD was selected as the operator for three regions—Gwangju and South Jeolla, Daegu and North Gyeongsang, and Busan and South Gyeongsang—under the Korea Expressway Corporation’s “2025 Highway Rest Area Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Construction Project.” The company plans to improve charging accessibility and user convenience, focusing on highways where long-distance travel is common. This project was carried out based on an integrated operating system in which CHAEVI CO., LTD handles everything in-house, from charger development and manufacturing to installation, operation, and maintenance. CHAEVI CO., LTD plans to continue expanding its NACS-compatible chargers and advancing next-generation charging services based on its proprietary charging platform. Additionally, Chabi is strengthening user services through collaboration with TKC, the domestic Tesla community, and supports ultra-fast charging of up to 300 kW even when using a CCS1 adapter, thanks to its proprietary vehicle identification and current control technologies. Choi Young-hoon, CEO of CHAEVI CO., LTD, stated, “By operating charging stations at highway rest areas, we have created an environment where electric vehicle users can charge more conveniently even during long-distance trips,” adding, “We will continue to expand ultra-fast charging infrastructure and develop next-generation charging technologies.”
