[E-Daily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #KP Hanseok Chemical, a subsidiary of KOREA PETROLEUM INDUSTRIES, is set to target the research lab digital transformation (DX) market by leveraging its artificial intelligence (AI)-based laboratory safety management solution.

KP Hansuk Chemical IND. CO., LTD announced on the 6th that it will participate in the “International Safety and Health Exhibition (KISS 2026),” taking place at KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, through the 9th, to showcase its “Comprehensive Chemical Substance Survey” solution—a core service of its integrated laboratory management platform, “LAB MANAGER.”

KP Hansuk Chemical, a subsidiary of KOREA PETROLEUM INDUSTRIES, is expanding its business in laboratory digital transformation and safety management solutions based on over 30 years of experience in chemical distribution and logistics operations.

The Chemical Inventory Survey service being unveiled is a solution where, when a user takes a photo of a reagent using a smartphone or tablet, AI recognizes the label and automatically registers the reagent name, brand, product number, CAS number, volume, and storage location.

A key feature is that it goes beyond simple inventory management to analyze hazardous material classifications and whether acids and bases are stored together, thereby supporting laboratory safety management. The company expects that having specialized personnel who have completed safety training conduct the comprehensive inventory and organize reagents directly will reduce the risk of safety incidents—such as explosions and leaks—that can occur in laboratories.

The collected data is integrated with LabManager, a SaaS-based integrated laboratory management platform, enabling real-time management of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) and hazardous material status. The company explains that this also reduces the administrative burden on laboratories, such as the preparation of legally required documents.

KP Hansuk Chemical plans to demonstrate its AI-based chemical inventory service firsthand during the exhibition and also provide laboratory safety management consulting.

A company official stated, “By combining our 30 years of expertise in chemical management with AI technology, we will provide an environment where researchers can manage chemicals more safely and efficiently,” adding, “We will continue to expand our related solution business to meet the demand for research laboratory safety management and digital transformation.”
