The girl group i-dle (Miyeon, Minnie, Soyeon, Wooqi, Shuhua) is making a comeback with a new summer song. Having previously garnered a positive response by releasing tracks like “DUMDi DUMDi” and “Klaxon” during the summer season, all eyes are on whether they will create another “hit summer song.”
The new summer song prepared by i-dle is “Gimme Dat Love,” the title track of their 9th mini-album “We Made.” The song expresses the intense emotions felt when strongly drawn to someone you like. It was co-written by DaraMola—who has collaborated with artists such as Anita, Danny Ocean, Sean Paul, Becky G, and Jason Derulo—and Samantha Camarra, who has written songs for Kenya Os, Nicky Jam, and Dana.
iDOLs are set to take on the summer music scene with this new song, produced by renowned producers active in the Latin pop scene. At a press showcase held at 4:00 p.m. on the 6th at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, member So-yeon stated, “We’ve made a comeback with a new song featuring a ‘heat-for-heat’ concept—different from the summer songs we’ve released before—to show you the diverse colors of summer.” Regarding their goals for this promotion, she said, “We want to receive a lot of love from our fans and the public with this new song and reach number one.”
Instead of her real name, Soyeon listed her songwriting alter ego, “Ice Blue Rabbit,” in the title track’s credits. Regarding this, Soyeon said, “I usually prefer music that’s stimulating and catches your attention, but when working as ‘Ice Blue Rabbit,’ I try to create songs that are easier on the ears than usual—songs you can enjoy without overthinking.”

'We Made' is the new album that the group is releasing after a six-month hiatus. It features a total of six tracks, including the title track “Kim Mi That Love,” as well as “Mono,” “Crow,” “Morning,” and “Love Is Pain.” The full album will be released at 6 p.m. today on various online music platforms.
So-yeon said, “Since we’ve been in the industry for nine years now, we started to get tired of ourselves. With the mindset of trying something new and fun, we made an effort to experiment in various ways, and with the goal of creating music that anyone would enjoy, we focused on the essence of music.” Mi-yeon added, “We worked on this album by returning to our roots.”
Meanwhile, the group has been carrying out their new world tour, “Syncopation,” since last February. They demonstrated their popularity by drawing nearly 80,000 attendees for their two-day concert at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on the 27th and 28th of last month.
Woo-gi said, “As a K-pop girl group, I’m truly realizing that it’s possible to connect the whole world through music,” adding, “This was my first time performing in a stadium. I felt a sense of pride knowing that we’ve become great artists capable of filling such a large venue.” Shuhua urged fans, “We’ll work even harder in the future to show you new sides of ourselves, so please look forward to it.”
The group will also take the stage at “Lollapalooza,” a major music festival taking place in Chicago, U.S., on the 31st (local time). Minnie expressed her determination, saying, “It’s an honor to be able to participate in such a famous festival. Drawing on the energy we’ve received from fans during our tour, we’ll give it our all on the ‘Lollapalooza’ stage.” Woo-gi said, “Our current goal is to continue our activities healthily without losing sight of our original aspirations.”
