Linked Inc. announced on the 7th that, following its first revenue from the automotive electric motor business in the first quarter of this year through the global automotive parts supply chain, it plans to expand both supply volumes and the range of components used in the second half of the year.
The company is currently proceeding step-by-step with the process of entering the automotive parts supply chain, including production process audits, sample responses, design verification (DV), and product verification (PV) with eight vendors. Through this, the company aims to shift away from its existing revenue structure—centered on small vibration motors for smartphones—and cultivate electric motors for automotive parts as a new growth engine.
It has also established a production base to support mass production. Last year, Linked Inc. expanded its production lines in preparation for the mass production of automotive electronic components, securing an annual production capacity (CAPA) of 28.8 million units. The company began operating its production lines in the first quarter of this year, starting with the supply of samples and some components, and its utilization rate is expected to rise gradually in the second half of the year as new supply expands.
Electric motors for automotive components are core drive components responsible for in-vehicle convenience and control functions. Linked Inc.’s products are applied to various components, including air conditioning units, fuel filler necks, side mirrors, valves, and charging port opening/closing mechanisms. As demand for these products expands due to the recent trend toward vehicle electrification and the advancement of convenience features, their range of applications is also broadening.
Min Yong-jae, CEO of Linked Inc., stated, “Motors for automotive electronics represent a new growth driver for our manufacturing business, and as supply expansion gains momentum in the second half of the year, they will contribute to diversifying our revenue structure and improving profitability.” He added, “We will rapidly secure mass-production references in the automotive parts market to shift our business structure from a smartphone-centric model to one centered on automotive electronics.”
