[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD.(018260) shares are showing strength in early trading. It appears that buying interest has surged on the back of positive outlooks from the securities industry.

According to MP Doctor on the 7th, as of 9:08 a.m., SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD. shares are trading at 203,000 won, up 5.02% from the previous trading day.
Earlier today, HANWHA INVESTMENT & SECURITIES released a report stating that SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD.’s second-quarter earnings are expected to exceed market expectations, raising its target price from 210,000 won to 250,000 won.
Kim So-hye, an analyst at HANWHA INVESTMENT & SECURITIES, said, “We assess that revenue growth in the cloud and logistics sectors has been stronger than previously anticipated,” adding, “We estimate that cloud revenue grew by 15.5% compared to the same period last year, as delayed projects resumed and the external expansion of the Managed Service Provider (MSP) business accelerated.”
She added, “The company is expected to post second-quarter revenue of 3.69 trillion won and operating profit of 246.7 billion won, exceeding market expectations by 6% and 9%, respectively,” and predicted that the company would continue its robust earnings momentum in the second half of the year.
Hana Securities also raised its target price from 220,000 won to 240,000 won, noting that earnings are expected to improve as the expansion of the generative AI business and AI data centers (AI DC) gains momentum in the second half of the year.
Lee Jun-ho, an analyst at Hana Securities, stated, “Earnings clearly follow a pattern of being lower in the first half and higher in the second half, and as visibility regarding AI DCs improves, we believe it is reasonable to have high expectations for the second half.” In particular, he predicted that the AI business would drive earnings in the second half. “We expect stronger earnings in the second half compared to the first half,” Lee said. “The B300 GPUaaS service has launched, and we plan to begin recognizing revenue from public-sector generative AI projects in earnest during the second half.”
He also highlighted the value of the AI data center business. “Samsung SDS plans to secure a total of 120 MW of AI data centers by 2028, including the 20 MW West Wing of the Dongtan DC—which will begin full-scale operations this year—as well as 60 MW in Gumi and 40 MW at the Korea AI CC,” Lee emphasized. “Based on global GPU unit prices, we estimate this will contribute over 2 trillion won in annual revenue.”
