[E-Daily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Cafe24 Corp.(042000)’s content commerce service, “Matchmaking,” is boosting its transaction volume thanks to expanded collaborations with major content intellectual property (IP) holders.

Global e-commerce platform Cafe24 Corp. announced on the 7th that the average transaction value per collaboration for “Matchmaking”—its content commerce service that connects brands and creators—increased by 100% in the first half of this year compared to the same period last year.

Cafe24 Corp.’s Matchmaking is a content commerce service that supports collaborations between brands and creators. Brands can find creators who match their product characteristics and target audience, while creators can connect with brands that align with their content to create collaborations that lead to actual purchases and sales.

Cafe24 Corp. connects brands with suitable creators by comprehensively analyzing sales data, content preferences, and e-commerce and marketing characteristics. Even after a match is made, the company supports all aspects of content planning and operations to help ensure that collaborations lead to sales results, going beyond mere brand awareness.

The expansion of collaborations with “Mega Content IPs” is cited as a key factor behind the growth in performance during the first half of this year. According to Cafe24 Corp., the average transaction value per collaboration with mega-content IPs was 4.9 times higher than that of collaborations with general creators. The share of mega-content IPs in total collaboration transaction value also rose from 12.9% in the first half of last year to 18.0% in the first half of this year. The company explained that mega-content IPs, with their strong fan bases and content influence, drove actual purchase conversions and sales performance, contributing to the expansion of the overall transaction volume.

Individual collaborations also delivered strong results. The matchmaking collaboration with the “Noppakku Tak Jae-hoon” channel saw transaction volume in the first half of this year more than double last year’s annual total. For the “Green Plum Sparkling” project, a collaboration between “Workman” and WOONGJIN Foods, the 10,000 sets prepared for the launch sold out immediately after the content was released. More recently, the collaboration between “Lee Soo-geun Channel” and Doruko also received a positive response from consumers. Buoyed by these results, total transaction volume from matchmaking partnerships in the second quarter of this year increased by 51% compared to the first quarter.

Cafe24 Corp. explained that the growth of Matchmaking stems not from short-term hype but from a structure of trust built on repeated collaborations.

Launched in April 2024, Cafe24 Corp.'s Matchmaking service has recorded a cumulative transaction volume of 19.13 billion won and 1,133 matches to date. A total of 265 brands and 553 creators have participated, with a rematching rate of 50.6%. Cafe24 Corp. emphasized that these metrics demonstrate the establishment of a virtuous cycle in which results lead to further collaborations, going beyond mere connections.

Cafe24 Corp. plans to continue expanding the content commerce ecosystem by connecting creators and brands of various genres and sizes. The company intends to continue collaborating with mega content IPs—such as “Nopagku Tak Jae-hoon,” “Workman,” “Lee Soo-geun Channel,” and “Negowang”—while simultaneously enhancing its matchmaking service to connect brands with the optimal creators tailored to their specific characteristics and target audiences.

Lee Jae-seok, CEO of Cafe24 Corp., stated, “The competitiveness of content commerce does not lie in how many collaborations are created, but in how many of those collaborations lead to tangible results.” He added, “We will continue to support both brands and creators in achieving sustained results through data-driven matchmaking and expand the content commerce ecosystem.”
