[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Global IP content company #SAMG ENTERTAINMENT CO.,LTD announced on the 7th that it has revealed the lineup of artists performing the special OST for its new animated film, “Love’s Hachuping: The Legend of the Whale Gem.”
A total of six artists—NCT WISH’s Jaehee, Hearts2Hearts’ Yooha and Yeon, Baek Ji-young, Jung Ji-so, and Gwynn Dorado—are participating in this OST, expressing the emotions of the film through their diverse voices.
Set to premiere on August 5, “Love Hachuping: The Legend of the Whale Gem” is a fantasy animation depicting the adventures of Romi and Hachuping as they set out to find Romi’s mother, who has disappeared into the sea. While the previous installment, “Love Hachuping,” focused on Romi’s growth and love, this new film expands the story to center on a mother’s love and family bonds.
The special OST consists of a total of four tracks: two duets and two solo songs. It features K-pop idols, vocalists, and actors who bring the film’s emotions to life in diverse ways.
Jae-hee and Yu-ha sang the duet “Open Your Eyes,” a song filled with excitement and hope, while Ye-on expressed Romi’s determination to pursue her dreams through a solo track. Baek Ji-young and Jung Ji-so performed a duet conveying the love and longing between a mother and daughter, and Gwynn Dorado continued the emotional narrative with a solo track that conveys the power and courage of love.
Music Director Kim Tae-ho, who oversaw the OST, said, “All participating artists naturally captured the emotions of the work through their unique vocal tones and expressiveness,” adding, “The harmony of these distinct voices has elevated the quality of this special soundtrack.”
SAMG ENTERTAINMENT CO.,LTD continues its IP expansion strategy that combines content and music, consistently releasing collaborative tracks with K-pop artists across both TV animations and theatrical films. For this project as well, the company collaborated with artists from various generations to express the film’s worldview and emotions through music.
Meanwhile, “Love’s Hachuping: The Legend of the Whale Jewel” plans to sequentially release its special OST, starting with the behind-the-scenes video and track for the duet “Open Your Eyes” by Jae-hee and Yu-ha, which was released on the 1st. The film is set to open in theaters nationwide on August 5.
