[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Golf IT company VC Inc.(365900)announced on the 7th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Seoul National University’s Institute of Sports Science to jointly develop a running watch equipped with personalized real-time AI coaching features. Through this agreement, the two parties will jointly conduct technical research and pilot tests to develop a user-customized AI running watch. They plan to enhance core features—such as exercise data analysis, real-time AI coaching, and injury risk prediction—to boost competitiveness in the running market and the sports wearable industry. VC Inc. will be responsible for developing the running watch’s hardware, software, sensors, and algorithms, as well as operating the exercise data processing system and developing AI for running performance analysis and anomaly detection. The Seoul National University Institute of Sports Science will support the project by planning and advising on joint research projects, conducting research on injury risk prediction through integrated analysis of training load and heart rate variability (HRV), establishing research designs and evaluation protocols, and managing test participants and conducting field validation to enhance the product’s scientific rigor. Kim Jun-oh, CEO of VC Inc., stated, “The combination of VC Inc.’s sports IT expertise and the research capabilities of Seoul National University’s Institute of Sports Science will serve as a crucial starting point for providing runners with a more sophisticated AI coaching experience,” adding, “We will create a safe and efficient running environment based on individual exercise data and scientific analysis.” VC Inc. is expanding its business in global markets—including the U.S. and Japan, as well as domestically—led by its golf IT brand “VoiceCaddie” and running watch brand “Neuron.” The company announced that, building on this collaboration, it plans to expand its golf-centric business to encompass the broader sports IT sector, including running, and accelerate the development of on-device AI technology.
