[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Educational content platform company Digital Daesung Co., Ltd.(068930)announced on the 8th that Hanuri, its elementary and middle school reading education brand, is strengthening its foundation for revenue growth by continuously expanding its reading classrooms. Hanuri’s regional centers nationwide increased from 808 in early April to 835 by the end of June. Among these, the number of reading classrooms rose by 30—from 605 to 635—during the same period, driving the expansion of its network. The company explained that its strategy to expand on-site presence is progressing steadily, as the number of reading classrooms has continued to grow even after the winter break and the start of the new semester. The expansion of reading classrooms is directly linked to increased textbook supply. Since Hanuri generates revenue by supplying textbooks to regional centers, it is focusing on expanding its reading classrooms—a key channel for increasing membership. Reading classrooms operate on a hub-based model, with a director on-site who oversees both operations and instruction. Since a single location can accommodate multiple members, the structure ensures that as new hubs increase, so do points of contact with parents and channels for member recruitment. The company stated that this approach is strengthening both the efficiency of member management and the foundation for textbook sales. Hanuri’s reading classrooms nearly doubled in number—from 321 at the end of 2022 to 635 by the end of June this year—in about three and a half years. The company attributes this to its proactive shift from a model centered on visiting teachers to a hub-based reading classroom model. Kim Hee-sun, CEO of Digital Daesung Co., Ltd., said, “The expansion of hub locations centered on reading classrooms has broadened our engagement with parents, allowing new brands such as ‘Immersive Reading’ to gain a stable foothold,” adding, “Since our nationwide infrastructure is Hanuri’s core competitive advantage, we plan to continue expanding it.” Meanwhile, WOORIRO CO., LTD launched “Immersive Reading,” a program specializing in elementary school reading, last December. The company explained that this brand—developed based on years of accumulated expertise in reading education—focuses on filling gaps in elementary reading education and has been well-received by parents amid growing interest in literacy education.
