(Photo courtesy of APR) PhotoGray announced on the 8th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with “Kyochon SDN Company Ltd.,” the master franchise (MF) operator of Kyochon Chicken, to operate a shop-in-shop business in Malaysia. Under this agreement, Photogrey will install instant photo booths in a “shop-in-shop” format at approximately 10 KyoChon Chicken locations currently operating in Malaysia. The photo booths will open sequentially as early as the end of July, and in addition to Photogrey’s existing variety of designs and collaboration frames, customers will also be able to enjoy frames and live filters exclusive to KyoChon Chicken. A PhotoGray representative explained, “As K-Culture establishes itself as a global trend, the core of this collaboration is to expand our consumer reach through a partnership with Kyochon Chicken—which is maintaining steady growth in Malaysia—and to jointly provide a unique experience that combines K-Food and K-Content.” PhotoGray plans to pursue global expansion. Having recently entered markets such as the Philippines and Taiwan by highlighting its differentiated photo-editing technology and trendy frames, the company plans to evaluate the potential for global business expansion based on the results of this collaboration with Kyochon Chicken. PhotoGray is an instant photo booth brand launched by APR in 2017. It is leading the photo booth market with automatic correction software technology that naturally corrects issues such as camera lens distortion and left-right reversal. A PhotoGray representative stated, “This is a strategic partnership aimed at creating positive synergy between K-Food and K-Content alongside PhotoGray’s overseas expansion,” adding, “We plan to positively consider expanding the number of stores where the service is available based on future local operational performance and on-site feedback.”
