[E-Daily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Aroot Co., Ltd., the recycling subsidiary of Aroot Co., Ltd.(096690), announced on the 8th that it had passed SRF (Solid Recovered Fuel) performance tests conducted by a leading domestic power generation company. With the successful completion of these tests, Aroot Co., Ltd. is expected to see significant growth in its business performance as it supplies SRF to major power plants across the country.
The power generation company that conducted the tests is one of the top five power generators in the country, operating a key hub for domestic power supply rather than merely a single power plant. The tests focused on verifying the composition of SRF samples produced by Aroot Co., Ltd., and the results confirmed that Aroot Co., Ltd.’s SRF meets the standards for use as a substitute for fossil fuels.
With the successful completion of the tests, Aroot Co., Ltd. plans to accelerate discussions with domestic power generation companies to secure large-scale SRF supply contracts. The company explained that since these power generation companies account for a significant share of domestic power generation and are replacing fuel at existing fossil fuel-based power plants, the scale of SRF supply is expected to expand gradually in the future.
In the process of launching its new waste plastic recycling business, Aroot Co., Ltd. has not only secured a stable supply of raw materials but has also completed commercialization based on its SRF technology. Following the start of SRF supply last July, primarily to a power plant near Seo San Co. Ltd.—where its Plant 1 is located—the company has successfully diversified its customer base to include two additional power plants and established technical credibility through the SRF supply process.
A company official stated, “Following the commercialization of SRF in the private sector, we recently completed technical validation with a leading domestic power generation company,” adding, “Since domestic power plants are primarily operated by the public sector, this SRF performance test will serve as a stepping stone for Aroot Co., Ltd.’s entry into the large-scale public market.”
The spokesperson continued, “Since we have successfully completed the performance tests, we expect to see significant results in the large-scale public sector as early as this year,” adding, “Aroot Co., Ltd. is not only improving production efficiency through the introduction and optimization of state-of-the-art European recycling facilities but is also simultaneously expanding its domestic sales and improving profitability; we will strive to maximize our performance through these efforts.”
