The two companies signed the agreement at the “2nd Korea-Uzbekistan International Energy Value Networks Forum” held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, and agreed to jointly explore ways to enhance energy efficiency and build smart energy infrastructure in Uzbekistan based on CEMS technology. They also plan to expand various forms of cooperation, including local demonstration projects and commercialization.

This forum was held as part of a project led by Korea Western Power to support the development of the Uzbek energy market. NuriFlex participated to introduce the “Development and Demonstration Project for a Community Energy Management System for Demand-Based Energy Efficiency,” which it is jointly developing with GS Engineering & Construction Corp with support from the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan, the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Korea Industrial Technology Consulting (KICC), and the Korea Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP).

GS Engineering & Construction Corp, the lead research and development institution for the project, also participated in the forum to introduce community-level energy management technology. Officials from the Uzbek government—which is pursuing urban modernization—and local industry representatives reviewed Korea’s R&D achievements and assessed their potential for local application.

Han Jeong-hoon, CEO of NuriFlex, stated, “Starting with our collaboration with Eco Energy, we will successfully carry out the local demonstration project,” adding, “We will contribute to Uzbekistan’s energy modernization through a flexible CEMS utilizing distributed energy resources and expand our business into the Central Asian market.”
