Through this agreement, the two companies plan to strengthen their competitiveness in comprehensive logistics services and establish a cooperative framework to target the global logistics market. Key areas of cooperation include air freight and network optimization, joint development and sharing of ocean freight capacity, integration of global networks and development of express services, and collaboration on warehousing and fulfillment services.
HanExpress is a Chinese logistics company that provides logistics services in approximately 220 countries worldwide, including South Korea, the United States, and Japan. It has secured a competitive edge in transportation through its own cargo airline and global air hubs, and is expanding its business scope to include e-commerce logistics, global fulfillment, and supply chain finance.
In the air freight sector, the two companies will leverage their respective flight routes and cargo terminal operational capabilities to establish an international air freight intermodal transport model connecting major hub airports. The goal is to enhance the efficiency and reliability of international air cargo transportation.
In the maritime transport sector, the companies will jointly utilize cargo space on major international routes to secure stable transport capacity and reduce shipping costs.
By linking their overseas networks, the two companies plan to jointly handle customs clearance, transshipment, and last-mile delivery for Shinhung markets, and will also collaborate on developing international express and e-commerce logistics products.
In the warehousing and fulfillment sector, the two companies will collaborate primarily on domestic and international warehouse operations and order fulfillment services. They plan to provide logistics solutions—including warehousing, picking and packing, and value-added services—by integrating international e-commerce logistics with fulfillment center operations.
A Taewoong Logistics Co., Ltd. official stated, “Through this agreement, we have laid the groundwork to advance our air and ocean transportation systems, strengthen our global network, and enhance the competitiveness of our e-commerce logistics services.”
