[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] TV personality Jeong Seon-hee reminisced about her close friend, the late actress Choi Jin-sil.

Comedians Lee Sung-mi, Jung Sun-hee, Kim Young-hee, and Lee Sun-min appeared on the MBC variety show “Radio Star,” which aired on the 8th, to share stories.
On the show, Jeong Seon-hee mentioned a recent moment when she and her close friend Hong Jin-kyung broke down in tears together. Jeong Seon-hee began the story by saying, “Jun-hee (the daughter of the late Choi Jin-sil) got married not long ago.”
“Haven’t we all gone through such a difficult time?” she reflected. “It seemed so mature and admirable that that little girl was able to cope with and overcome all those challenges.” Jeong Seon-hee added, “I was telling myself, ‘I mustn’t cry,’ but Hong Jin-kyung had already been crying so much since morning that she was wearing sunglasses.”
Regarding Choi Jun-hee, Jeong Seon-hee said, “I thought she was so brave and admirable,” adding, “I hope everyone is happy.”

Jeong Seon-hee also shared an anecdote about Hong Jin-kyung. She recalled, “When we first decided to start a YouTube channel, I told the production team, ‘I’m terrified of it becoming too big a hit. I get stage fright,’” and added, “I said we’d do it if we could keep it low-key enough to maintain my daily life.”
Jeong Seon-hee said, “I hate it when (attention) comes crashing in like a tidal wave. I hope my daily life isn’t disrupted,” and continued, “Just when I was thinking, ‘This is perfect,’ Hong Jin-kyung contacted me and said, ‘Unnie, I think I need to announce my divorce on my YouTube channel.’”
Jeong Seon-hee described her flustered state of mind at the time, saying, “Isn’t this too big of an issue?” and “It was a situation where all sorts of articles could come out.” She continued, “Hong Jin-kyung is very persuasive,” adding, “We talked for 20 minutes, and before I knew it, I was scheduling the appearance.”
Jeong Seon-hee also recalled what Hong Jin-kyung had told her. “She said, ‘This isn’t a sad or despairing issue—it was just a chapter in my life, and I felt you were the person who could help me share that story naturally and comfortably,’” Jeong Seon-hee explained. “The video surpassed 1 million views,” she continued, “and the response was positive; I received a lot of support. It has become a chapter that we’ve both successfully moved past—in Hong Jin-kyung’s story and in my own life,” she said.
