[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] H-City ( HCT(072990)), a company specializing in testing, certification, and calibration, has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Daejin Semiconductor, a distributor of semiconductors and electronic components, to expand its calibration service market in the semiconductor and electronics industries.

HCT announced on the 9th that it had signed a business agreement with Daejin Semiconductor to expand calibration services in the semiconductor and electronics industries and to attract new customers.

With the recent growth of cutting-edge industries such as artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors, future mobility, defense, and aerospace, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of precision measurement equipment has become increasingly important. Consequently, as companies’ quality control standards are strengthened, the demand for accredited calibration services is also steadily increasing. Through this agreement, the two companies plan to combine Daejin Semiconductor’s network of industrial clients with HCT’s accredited calibration expertise to provide customized services to customers.

Under the agreement, Daejin Semiconductor will identify calibration needs among its existing clients in the semiconductor and electronics industries, while HCT will perform accredited calibrations and provide technical services. The companies plan to enhance customer convenience by establishing an integrated service chain—from initial consultation to calibration—and will jointly work to acquire new customers and expand their long-term customer base.

HCT is the only accredited calibration laboratory in South Korea to hold simultaneous accreditation from KOLAS and the U.S.-based A2LA. It provides world-class calibration services across various industries, including electrical and electronics, batteries, defense, satellites, telecommunications, the environment, and pharmaceuticals and biotechnology. Leveraging its experience in calibrating precision measuring instruments for the semiconductor and electronics industries, HCT supports clients in establishing quality management systems. Daejin Semiconductor possesses a sales network and customer base in the semiconductor and electronic components distribution sector.

Heo Bong-jae, CEO of HCT, stated, “Calibration is an essential element for maintaining quality competitiveness on the manufacturing floor.” He added, “Through this agreement, we will support customers in the semiconductor and electronics industries so they can access accredited calibration services more easily and conveniently, and we will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the calibration business by expanding cooperation with partners across various industrial sectors.”

Park Seong-seo, Chairman of Daejin Semiconductor, remarked, “We have laid the groundwork to provide calibration services in conjunction with product supply,” adding, “We will build long-term partnerships by offering a variety of technical services that help enhance our customers’ quality competitiveness.”
