[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #CHOONG ANG VACCINE LABORATORY, a company specializing in veterinary vaccines, announced on the 9th that it has signed a 5.8 billion won contract with the Public Procurement Service to supply SAT1 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccines.

In a regulatory filing on the 8th, the CHOONG ANG VACCINE LABORATORY stated that it had signed an exclusive sales and supply contract with the Public Procurement Service for the supply of the SAT1 foot-and-mouth disease vaccine. This contract was awarded through a public tender on the National Procurement Portal, with a contract value of 5.8 billion won (excluding VAT). The supply volume is 4 million doses, and the delivery deadline is August 7, 2026.

The government already administered SAT1 vaccinations to 170,000 ruminants in May in areas near the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) in Incheon, Gyeonggi, and northwestern Gangwon. Vaccinations for 770,000 ruminants in the west coast region are scheduled for this coming September, and the government is strengthening its disease control system in preparation for the potential introduction of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) SAT1.

It is reported that the government plans to stockpile approximately 10 million doses of the SAT1 vaccine this year and proceed with vaccinations in stages. The supply from the CHOONG ANG VACCINE LABORATORY is also expected to be used for vaccinations in the second half of the year following the stockpiling.

The CHOONG ANG VACCINE LABORATORY plans to import and supply the contracted volume from overseas vaccine manufacturers. The company intends to ensure stable delivery by leveraging its global supply chain and experience in vaccine distribution.

A company official stated, “This contract is a meaningful project that can contribute to strengthening the national disease control system,” adding, “Based on our global supply network and procurement capabilities, we will do our utmost to ensure a smooth supply so that the government’s foot-and-mouth disease control policy proceeds without a hitch.”

The spokesperson added, “We expect this contract to have a positive impact on this year’s financial performance,” and noted, “We will expand our vaccine supply business in response to changes in the domestic and international livestock disease control environment and further strengthen our competitiveness in government procurement and the animal vaccine sector.”
