[Edaily Reporter An Yu-ri ] NEOWIZ(095660)announced on the 9th that it has appointed Chris Chung as Head of the Global Business Group. The company aims to strengthen its global publishing business through this appointment.

Chris Chung is a gaming industry leader who has spearheaded the entire process—from founding development studios to building global franchises—not only in South Korea but also in the North American and European markets. As Chief Product Officer (CPO) at the European video game company “Wargaming,” he oversaw operations as the head of world-class global franchise IPs such as “World of Tanks” and “World of Warships.”

He also garnered industry attention by founding the game company “Motiga” and developing the new IP “Gigantic.” Furthermore, as Head of Business at NCSoft’s headquarters and President of its U.S. subsidiary, he spearheaded operations in Asia and North America, demonstrating his extensive experience and deep understanding of the global market.

Through this appointment, NEOWIZ plans to solidify its position as a global publisher by leveraging Chris Jung’s diverse global business experience and leadership. The company aims to grow existing IPs, such as “P’s Lie,” into franchises that remain consistently popular with gamers, while steadily discovering new IPs to build an IP portfolio that ensures sustained growth in the global market.

This appointment coincided with NEOWIZ’s organizational restructuring. NEOWIZ has reorganized its existing structure into the New Title Development Group, the Global Business Group, and the Live Game Business Group. Jo Min-gu, Head of the Olympus Division, will serve as the head of the Live Game Business Group. Building on the stable live service operations of web board games such as Pmang and popular IPs like *Brown Dust 2* and *Cat and Soup*, the Live Game Business Group will enhance its data-driven operational system and boost IP competitiveness through innovative initiatives.

A NEOWIZ spokesperson stated, “With Chris Jung’s joining, we have established a publishing organization and capabilities that possess a broad understanding of the entire process, from early-stage development to the creation of global franchises,” adding, “Going forward, we will not only actively support new games to ensure their success in the global market but also further expand business opportunities, such as discovering and investing in new IPs.”

Meanwhile, NEOWIZ announced in June the appointment of Park Sung-jun, Head of the New Game Development Group, as its new CEO. Park, who is set to take office as CEO this August, will continue to serve concurrently as Head of the New Game Development Group. NEOWIZ plans to introduce IPs that will consistently be loved in the global market, focusing on three pillars: new game development, global business, and live service operations.
