Boy group Alpha Drive One (ALPHA DRIVE ONE) made this announcement while performing a special stage at the “2026 K Forum,” held on the 9th at the Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Seoul in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul.
The “K Forum” is an event hosted by the entertainment and sports newspaper Ilgan Sports and the current affairs and economics weekly The Economist to reflect on the past and present of K-content and K-brands and to explore their future together. Now in its fourth year, this year’s event adopted the theme “Play K,” emphasizing that for the influence of K-content and K-brands to expand beyond current levels, it is crucial to go beyond simply watching and listening—and instead encourage people to actively participate and enjoy the experience as “players.”
Alpha Drive One debuted last January as the winning group from Mnet’s idol survival show “Boys 2 Planet.” On the day of the event, they performed “OMG” and “FREAK ALARM,” receiving an enthusiastic response from fans in attendance. The members said, “It is meaningful and we are grateful to be part of an event that highlights K-content and K-brands,” adding, “Just as our group name embodies the meanings of ‘goal toward the very top (Alpha),’ ‘unstoppable drive (Drive),’ and ‘united solidarity (One),’ we will continue to strive to be the best, so please keep watching us.”
AlphaDriveOne also had the pleasure of receiving the “Artist of the Month” trophy that day. “Artist of the Month” is a monthly fan vote for the “2026 Korea Grand Music Awards” (2026 KGMA), scheduled to take place over two days on November 7–8 at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul. The top artist in each of the four categories—K-pop Group, Male Solo, Female Solo, and Rookie—is selected each month based entirely on fan votes. Alpha Drive One took the top spot in the Rookie category for January. Member Sang-won had the honor of being the sole winner in the Rookie category for May.
