[E-Daily Reporter Kim Kyung-eun ] SK hynix(000660)is trading higher in early trading on the 10th. This is interpreted as buying interest surging following the strong performance of semiconductor stocks on the New York Stock Exchange overnight, coupled with the imminent listing of American Depositary Receipts (ADRs).

According to MP Doctor, as of 9:04 a.m. today, SK hynix is trading at 2.26 million won, up 74,000 won (3.39%) from the previous trading day.

SKSQUARE(402340), SK hynix’s largest shareholder, was trading at 1,414,000 won at the same time, up 87,000 won (6.56%).

This is interpreted as investor sentiment being boosted by expectations of a successful SK hynix ADR offering. According to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), SK hynix plans to issue 177.9 million ADRs. One ADR is equivalent to one-tenth of a share of SK hynix common stock.

The offering price was set at $149, bringing the total offering size to approximately $26.5 billion (about 39.9 trillion won). This surpasses the $25 billion raised by Alibaba during its 2014 initial public offering (IPO), making it the largest U.S. stock market listing by a foreign company to date.

SK hynix’s ADR offering closed with oversubscription of more than seven times. Total demand reached approximately $200 billion (301 trillion won).

The strong performance of semiconductor stocks on the New York Stock Exchange last night also fueled buying momentum. As major semiconductor stocks surged, all three major indices rose, with the Nasdaq Composite Index climbing 1.30%.

As a result, SamsungElectronics(005930)is trading at 289,000 won, up 11,000 won (3.96%) from the previous session.
