[E-Daily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #CLOBOT Co., Ltd. and #A PRO Co., LTD. are jointly launching a project for autonomous safety inspections at industrial sites by combining a quadruped robot with artificial intelligence (AI).
CLOBOT Co., Ltd, a company specializing in intelligent robot services and heterogeneous robot integrated control, and A PRO Co., LTD, a company specializing in AI-based industrial safety diagnostics, announced on the 10th that they have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to launch an Autonomous Safety Inspection (AX) business for industrial sites that integrates the quadruped robot “Spot” with AI technology. Under this agreement, CLOBOT Co., Ltd will be responsible for supplying Spot, implementing it on-site, and providing maintenance services, while A PRO Co., LTD will handle the development of AI algorithms, robot integration, and support for on-site implementation. The two companies plan to jointly plan and promote robot-based autonomous safety inspection services targeting industrial infrastructure.
The two companies expect that applying quadruped robots to industrial sites will automate repetitive inspection tasks, such as verifying whether workers are wearing safety equipment, checking for equipment malfunctions, diagnosing water, oil, and gas leaks, and conducting thermal imaging-based condition assessments.
A PRO Co., LTD explained that it has developed an AI algorithm to conduct spot safety diagnostics of vulnerable areas in hydropower and pumped-storage facilities operated by Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) and is currently expanding the scope of its application.
Through this agreement, the two companies plan to collaborate not only on technology exchange and identifying joint business opportunities but also on securing new domestic and international clients through joint branding, the production of promotional videos and proposals, and joint participation in trade shows.
Kim Chang-gu, CEO of CLOBOT Co., Ltd, said, “Since we are combining CLOBOT Co., Ltd’s strengths with A PRO Co., LTD’s safety inspection technology, we hope to move forward together with long-term goals in mind, rather than limiting our collaboration to the short term.”
Lim Jong-hyun, CEO of A PRO Co., LTD, said, “We reviewed various robots and carried out the project during the Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power safety inspection project conducted over the past two years,” adding, “We will rapidly expand our business through this collaboration.”
