In the upcoming episode of SBS’s “Running Man,” airing on the 12th, the “Holding On to the End of This Memory” race will unfold, taking viewers on a trip down memory lane with nostalgic items. Comedians Jo Hye-ryeon and Song Eun-i will appear to add to the fun.
During a recent taping, the members split into two teams and took on a mission to identify items and data representing specific years from the past. As nostalgia-inducing materials appeared one after another—such as footage of Michael Jackson’s concert in Korea, past real estate prices in Apgujeong, and the price of a single share of stock that was cheaper than instant noodles back then (though it has since hit record highs)—the members dug deep into their memories and engaged in a heated guessing contest.
In particular, HaHa repeatedly claimed to know the correct answers based on his personal experiences, but was consistently met with opposition from Kim Jong-kook. However, when HaHa’s choices were revealed to be correct one after another, he vented his frustration, saying, “My memory is right, so listen to me!”
Amid this, Kim Jong-kook refused to concede until the very end, and their bickering chemistry kept the audience laughing. Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-suk demonstrated his “Yoo-kipedia” status by rattle-off the exact year and historical context for every item that appeared.

Next, the show featured “Catch the Mouse,” a nostalgic national game where favorable bonuses are awarded based on the year. Although the production team introduced new rules that upgraded the original game, the members broke out in a cold sweat from the start, exclaiming, “It’s too hard.”
Since this was the signature game from a past program hosted by Ji Seok-jin and featuring Jo Hye-ryeon, the two approached it with confidence. However, once the game began, it became clear that neither their bodies nor their minds were what they used to be; they made mistake after mistake, drawing complaints from their teammates.
Yoo Jae-suk teased, “Why are the people who used to do this show so bad at it now?” and Ji Seok-jin lamented, “It’s been 15 years!”—drawing laughter from the audience. Despite this, the members reportedly got fully into the nostalgic game, reenacting the original intro performance and immersing the set in the vibe of the 2000s.
