(Photo = MBN·SBS Plus) The MBN·SBS Plus variety show “The Psychopaths I’ve Met,” premiering on the 12th, is a thriller talk show that explores real-life incidents in human relationships based on actual tips from the public. The show features the cast listening to and discussing personal experiences involving people labeled as psychopaths, sociopaths, or narcissists.
The first episode features Jeon Hyun-moo, Kyuhyun, Nucksal, and Heo Young-ji. During the taping, when Kyuhyun shared stories of couples facing life-or-death situations, the cast could not hide their shock.
While listening to the story, Jeon Hyun-moo—the only married person among the cast—expressed his frustration to Nucksal, saying, “At that point, why not just get a divorce? Why do they keep living like that?” Nucksal also said, “I don’t understand it either. They want to keep their family together, but they also want to cheat—I just don’t get how both sides feel.” The specific details of the couple’s story that angered the two will be revealed on the show.
A tip titled “The Reunion of Death” is also introduced. Upon seeing the title, Jeon Hyun-moo remarks, “Reunions are dangerous,” to which Noksal chimes in, “Yeah, that’s where a lot of affairs happen.” Jeon Hyun-moo retorts, “Don’t meet up with old friends,” adding a touch of humor even amid the somber atmosphere.
However, as the story unfolds in earnest, the cast’s expressions change. Jeon Hyun-moo, Kyuhyun, Nucksal, and Heo Young-ji all exclaim, “That’s the devil!” in unison, expressing their shared outrage at the character’s actions. The main focus of the first episode is how a class reunion that began as an ordinary gathering led to a certain incident.
During the first recording, the cast members also exchanged banter about their own timid personalities. After looking at the lineup of hosts, Nucksal remarked, “You’ve basically just gathered a bunch of cowards.” Jeon Hyun-moo compares himself to a “scared little puppy,” while Kyuhyun and Heo Young-ji also admit that they are easily startled and timid. The set erupts in laughter when Jeon Hyun-moo protests to the production team, “Why did you gather only people like this?”
“The Psychopath I Met,” which combines real-life incidents based on tip-offs with the cast’s banter, airs tonight at 10 p.m.
