[E-Daily Reporter SONG YOUNG-DOO ] MITECH CO., LTD., a global specialist in gastrointestinal stents, is set to significantly expand its local corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities following the launch of its Vietnamese manufacturing subsidiary, “MITECH PLANT VINA.” The company’s strategy is to go beyond simply establishing an overseas production base and position itself as a “global social enterprise” that grows alongside the local community.
MITECH CO., LTD.(179290)On the 13th, the company announced that it would cover the full cost of dental treatment and provide medical equipment to students and staff at the Thuan An Educational Center for Disabled Children, affiliated with Ho Chi Minh City University of Education in Vietnam.
This support is intended for approximately 380 students and staff members who, due to communication difficulties stemming from hearing impairments, have struggled to receive regular dental checkups and treatment.
MITECH CO., LTD. will donate dental chairs and scaling equipment to Bui Tien Hung Dental Clinic, a local partner dental hospital that has been providing ongoing support to the center. In addition, the company plans to fully cover the costs of regular oral examinations held three times a year, as well as treatments for cavities and root canals, to create a stable environment for dental care.
The company is operating this initiative not as a one-time effort but as a long-term corporate social responsibility (CSR) project. While continuing to provide annual dental checkups, the company is also considering projects to improve the students’ educational environment, such as providing school supplies and educational materials, starting next year.
This initiative is an extension of MITECH CO., LTD.’s ESG management efforts. As part of its CSR program, the company is also providing training on stent manufacturing and production processes to students at the Tuan An Education Center for Children with Disabilities. It operates training programs to help students acquire the skills and competencies needed in a production setting, and plans to offer employment opportunities at the VINA TECH CO.,LTD. Plant to students who complete the program after graduation.
The company’s vision is to establish a sustainable social contribution model that supports the independence of students with disabilities while cultivating talent tailored to the local community.
In South Korea as well, MITECH CO., LTD. has consistently carried out social contribution activities by leveraging its expertise as a medical device company, such as participating in Sangsangin Co., Ltd.’s “Project to Improve Mobility for Children Who Use Wheelchairs.” The company explains that this support initiative in Vietnam is significant as it represents an expansion of such ESG activities to its overseas operations.
Kwak Jae-oh, CEO of MITECH CO., LTD., stated, “The Vietnam plant is not merely an expansion of our production base but a global hub that grows alongside the local community.” He added, “Starting with support for dental treatment for children with disabilities, we will continue to expand various social contribution activities that link education and employment to establish ourselves as a company that thrives in harmony with the local community.”
