[E-Daily Reporter SIN SOO-JUNG ] LotteChilsungBeverage, in partnership with KUMHOE&C, launched a campaign to prevent heat-related illnesses among construction workers. #LotteChilsungBeverage announced on the 14th that it provided heatwave-preparedness supplies and beverages to approximately 200 workers on the 13th at the KUMHOE&C Osan Seogyo Atera Apartment construction site in Beoleum-dong, Osan City, Gyeonggi Province. Officials from the Pyeongtaek Branch of the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Southern Gyeonggi Branch of the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency also attended the event.
LotteChilsungBeverage set up a campaign booth at the site and provided cooling towels, ice packs, and cooling patches. The company also supplied Gatorade, iSis bottled water, and electrolyte powder to help workers stay hydrated while working.
An interactive event was also held on-site to raise awareness of safety guidelines for extreme heat. Using a Plinko game—where the outcome is determined by the path a ball takes after being dropped—workers learned preventive measures against heat-related illnesses.
KUMHOE&C plans to strengthen safety management during the extreme heat by operating shaded rest areas on construction sites and providing beverages.
A representative from LotteChilsungBeverage stated, “Since preventing heat-related illnesses caused by extreme heat is of the utmost importance at construction sites, we hope this campaign will help protect workers’ safety and health,” adding, “We will continue to collaborate with various construction companies to create safe working environments and promote a culture of heat-related illness prevention.”
