Co., Ltd.(087600), a company specializing in CMOS image sensors (CIS), announced on the 14th that it plans to supply its high-performance “PKB210K” image sensor to a drone manufacturer selected as the top candidate for negotiations in the Ministry of National Defense’s procurement project for commercial drones for training purposes.

This supply initiative aligns with the Ministry of National Defense’s policy to expand its drone capabilities and localize core components. In accordance with the “Defense Drone and Anti-Drone Development Policy,” the Ministry of National Defense plans to secure a total of 110,000 drones by 2029 and gradually introduce 60,000 commercial drones for training purposes to train “500,000 drone operators.” As part of this process, the ministry is also actively promoting the localization of core components.

The “PKB210K” supplied by Pixelplus. Co., Ltd. is a 2-megapixel (2MP) CMOS image sensor that supports high-speed recording at 60 fps and up to 140 dB HDR (High Dynamic Range). It delivers clear video even in backlit conditions or environments with high contrast, and is equipped with “motion artifact-free HDR” technology—which reduces motion blur during drone flight—as well as an LFM (LED Flicker Mitigation) feature that corrects LED lighting flicker.

The company expects this sensor to be adopted in products from competitive domestic drone manufacturers in the educational and commercial drone markets, thereby contributing to the localization of core components and the establishment of a stable supply chain as required by the Ministry of National Defense.
