[E-Daily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] The KOSPI, which opened lower, has turned around and is now on the rise. In particular, major semiconductor stocks, led by SamsungElectronics(005930)and SK hynix(000660), are rebounding. According to MP Doctor on the 14th, as of 9:54 a.m., the KOSPI is trading at 6,919.67, up 1.66% (112.74 points) from the previous trading day. The KOSPI market conditions are displayed on an electronic board in the trading room at Hana Bank’s headquarters in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 14th. On that day, the KOSPI index opened at 6,769.06, down 37.87 points (0.56%) from the previous trading day, while the KOSDAQ index opened at 797.16, down 2.20 points (0.28%) from the previous trading day.(Photo = News1) Kim Yu-mi, an analyst at KIWOOM Securities, stated, “The market opened lower, led by large-cap semiconductor stocks, due to weakness in U.S. semiconductor and memory stocks,” adding, “The sharp rise in international oil prices and concerns over further monetary tightening in the U.S. also continue to pose a potential burden on foreign capital flows and investor sentiment.” However, she analyzed, “Given that the KOSPI plunged nearly 9% the previous day, the market is expected to partially recover from its early-session losses due to bargain-hunting driven by the perception that the decline was excessive.” In the stock market, retail investors are selling 1.5991 trillion won worth of shares, while foreign and institutional investors are net buyers of 114.5 billion won and 1.5167 trillion won, respectively. Program trading shows a net buy of 348.3 billion won, combining arbitrage and non-arbitrage trades. By sector, electrical and electronics, as well as transportation and warehousing, are rising by around 1%, while electricity and gas, manufacturing, and medical and precision instruments are also showing gains. In contrast, transportation equipment and parts are falling by around 3%, and insurance, machinery, and equipment are down by more than 2%. Chemicals, food, beverages, and tobacco, metals, pharmaceuticals, entertainment and culture, and finance are all down by around 1%. Among the top market-cap stocks, declines are predominant, with #HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES down by around 5%, and #HyundaiMotor, #Samsung Life Insurance, and #KB Financial Group falling by more than 3%. #DOOSAN ENERBILITY is down by around 2%. #SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION, #SAMSUNG BIOLOGICS, #LG Energy Solution, and #ShinhanFinancialGroup Co.,Ltd. are down by more than 1%. In contrast, SamsungElectronics(005930)is rebounding by around 4%, while SK hynix(000660), #SKSQUARE, and #SamsungElectroMechanics are rising by about 1%. The KOSDAQ market is currently at 788.59, down 1.35% (10.77 points) from the previous trading day. Among the top market-cap stocks, declines are predominant, with #Kolon TissueGene, Inc. falling by around 7% and #Alteogen Inc. and #LigaChem Biosciences dropping by more than 6%. On the other hand, #JUSUNG ENGINEERING Co.,Ltd. is up more than 6%, and #PSK INC. is rising by around 4%.
