[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] The song “If You Love,” performed by singer Hwang Young-woong for the KBS 2TV weekend drama *I Prescribe Love*, has become embroiled in controversy. This comes after KBS and the drama’s production company, HB Entertainment, denied ever approving the track as part of the drama’s OST.

A KBS official told E-Daily on the 14th, “Regardless of the controversy surrounding the singer (Hwang Young-woong), we have officially raised an objection with the OST production company regarding their promotion of a track—which KBS never approved as part of the ‘Prescription for Love’ OST—as if it were an official OST.”
In response, the drama’s production company, HB Entertainment, issued a statement saying, “We are currently conducting a legal review and taking necessary steps to address the release of a track that was not used in the broadcast, which utilizes the drama’s title, the KBS name, and other drama-related assets.”
Meanwhile, the OST production company, NyamNyam Entertainment, maintains that there were no issues with the production process for the song performed by Hwang Young-woong and plans to release the track “If You Love Me” as scheduled at 6:00 p.m. today.
In a statement, Nyam Nyam Entertainment explained, “The OST sung by Hwang Young-woong was a track that had been pre-recorded in accordance with the OST production schedule, which calls for sequential releases alongside the drama’s broadcast.”
They added, “Securing OST vocalists is a production task carried out by the OST production company in accordance with contracts with the drama production company and proper copyright procedures,” and clarified, “We proceeded with the casting after determining there were no issues through the relevant procedures, and we did not forcefully push through any matters.”
They added, “While we are disappointed that the track will not be used in the drama, since the recording has already been completed, we have decided to release it as scheduled through music streaming sites so that fans and listeners can enjoy it.”

Hwang Young-woong gained popularity after appearing on the 2023 MBN trot competition program “Burning Trot Man,” but voluntarily withdrew ahead of the second round of the finals after various allegations—including school bullying, a prior conviction for assault, and dating violence—surfaced.
At the time, Hwang Young-woong released a statement on his social media accounts, saying, “I will not make excuses by claiming these were incidents from my childhood. I will reflect on the past, clear up any misunderstandings, and offer a sincere apology.” However, he added, “I sincerely ask for forgiveness from those who were hurt by my actions. But regarding the stories that are not true, I want to set the record straight—if only for the sake of those who have believed in me.”
Subsequently, in January, Hwang Young-woong denied the school bullying allegations through his agency, Golden Voice. The agency stated, “A significant portion of the allegations circulated to date are either maliciously edited or one-sided claims whose facts have not been verified,” adding, “While there may have been disputes or periods of waywardness among friends during his school days, there is no truth to the claims that he persistently bullied a specific individual or engaged in sadistic acts as reported.”
Amid this controversy, when NyamNyam Entertainment recently announced that “If You Love Me,” sung by Hwang Young-woong, would be released as the final OST for *I Prescribe Love*, a petition calling for the release to be withdrawn was posted on the KBS Viewer Center’s petition board. The petitioner argued that it is inappropriate for a singer facing allegations of school violence to perform the OST for a public broadcaster’s drama, and more than 2,000 people expressed their agreement with the post.
