[E-Daily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] Shi Nansheng, a renowned film producer in the Hong Kong film industry, has passed away. He was 75.

According to foreign media outlets such as Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post on the 14th, Shi Nansheng passed away at a hospital in Hong Kong around 8:51 p.m. on the 13th.
Film Workshop, Shi Nansheng’s production company, stated, “Shi Nansheng’s health had been deteriorating since 2022 due to immune system issues and complications, and in recent months, he suffered from multiple organ failure caused by recurrent infections.”
According to reports, Shi Nansheng’s ex-husband, renowned Hong Kong film director Xu Jie, was by her side at the time of her passing.
Born in Hong Kong in 1951, she entered the film industry in 1981 through the creative collective Cinema City (New Talent Studio). She also made her debut as an art director for the 1983 film *The Last Tycoon 2*.
Together with Director Xu Jie, she founded the production company Film Workshop Company in 1984 and produced iconic Hong Kong films such as *A Better Tomorrow*, the *Wong Fei-hung* series, *A Chinese Ghost Story*, *Eastern Condors*, and *Infernal Affairs*.
Shi Nansheng received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 3rd Asian Film Awards in 2009. In 2011, he served as a juror in the main competition section at the Cannes Film Festival, and in 2013, he was awarded the Order of Arts and Letters by the French Ministry of Culture. At the 43rd Hong Kong Film Festival held last April, he also received a Lifetime Achievement Award alongside director Tsui Hark.
