[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] “When we first started making music in London 10 years ago, we never expected our music to gain popularity overseas. That’s why the moment our first concert in Korea sold out still remains vivid in my memory.” Andy Clutterbuck (left) and James Hatcher of the pop duo HONNE (Photo courtesy of Rijim International)British pop duo HONNE made these remarks while reflecting on their career at a press listening session for their 10th-anniversary compilation album, “HONNE – 10,” held at Tilt in Mapo-gu, Seoul, at 7 p.m. on the 14th. HONNE is a duo consisting of producer James Hatcher and vocalist-producer Andy Kluterbeck. Since their official debut in 2016, they have gained popularity by consistently releasing tracks featuring warm yet sophisticated synth sounds. Their global cumulative streaming count exceeds 3 billion plays. Since their debut, they have consistently visited Korea to perform, fostering a close connection with their local fans. In particular, their first concert in Korea, held at the Yes24 Live Hall in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, in October 2016, was Honne’s first sold-out show and holds special significance for both members. On that day, Honne said, “Not only did we experience our first sold-out concert in Korea, but we also experienced the ‘sing-along’ culture for the first time here. It felt like we were in a massive karaoke room,” adding, “It remains a fun and joyful memory.” The two members continued, “We’ve visited Korea many times, so it’s become a familiar country to us,” and made the press corps smile by shouting “We love Korea” in Korean. In 2017, their hit song “Warm on a Cold Night” was used as the theme song for an advertisement by a Korean bedding brand and received widespread acclaim. The following year, they participated in the production of “Seoul,” a solo track by BTS member RM. Reflecting on his collaboration with RM, Honne explained, “It all started when he recommended our music on social media. After that, we met several times backstage at concerts, grew closer, and naturally ended up working on music together.” He added, “Even now, looking back, working with RM was an incredible experience that’s still hard to believe.” When asked which K-pop artist they’d like to collaborate with in the future, they named NewJeans. Honne stated, “Their musical vibe and melodic style seem like a good fit for us. I think we could create a great song if we worked together.” (Photo courtesy of Rejim International)(Photo courtesy of Rejim International)Prior to meeting with the press that day, Honne held a listening session to play tracks from their new album, *Honne - 10*. *Honne - 10* is an album that reinterprets their previously released songs in acoustic versions. Twelve tracks, including “Warm on a Cold Night,” “Someone That Loves You,” “Me & You,” “Location Unknown,” and “Crying Over You,” have been newly arranged. Honne said, “The response to the acoustic versions we performed at concerts was great. There were even some adorable fans who requested the acoustic versions, saying they wanted to use them at their weddings.” They added, “We selected our favorite songs from our existing catalog. You’ll be able to experience a different vibe from the original versions.” The group will hold a three-day concert in Seoul at the Lotte Concert Hall in Songpa-gu from the 16th to the 18th, where they will perform live renditions of the songs included on this album. Tickets sold out well in advance. Honne said, “Since we’re building the setlist around songs rearranged for acoustic versions, this concert will be a different experience from our previous performances,” urging fans to look forward to it. They added, “After the concert, we plan to start working on new songs.”
