The film “Hope,” which opened on the 15th, can be viewed in various special formats, including IMAX, Dolby Cinema, SCREENX, and 4DX. Notably, IMAX screenings will run for only two weeks, starting on the 15th, the film’s opening day.
In IMAX, viewers can enjoy the film’s unique visual aesthetics, intense action sequences, and nuanced sound even more vividly through the ultra-large screen’s sharp resolution and immersive sound system. Distributor Plus M Entertainment stated, “This will be a special opportunity to experience the film’s overwhelming scale in the most immersive way possible.”
“Hope” is a science fiction feature film directed by Na Hong-jin—known for “The Chaser” and “The Yellow Sea”—marking his return to the genre 10 years after “The Wailing.” The story begins when Beom-seok (played by Hwang Jung-min), the head of the Hopo Port branch office located in the Demilitarized Zone, hears from local youths that a tiger has appeared. As the entire village goes on high alert, he is confronted with a reality that defies belief.
The film has also drawn attention for its star-studded cast, which includes Korean actors Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, and Jung Ho-yeon, as well as international stars such as Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.
In particular, as of the 15th, *Hope* has surpassed 600,000 advance tickets sold, ranking first in advance ticket sales among this year’s releases and signaling strong box office potential.
