KTCorporation’s Board of Directors announced on the 15th that it had visited the KTCorporation Cloud Mokdong 2 Data Center and the KTCorporation Hyehwa Telecommunications Office on the 14th to inspect the operational status of key infrastructure. This site visit was organized so that the Board could directly oversee the progress of the Group’s future growth strategies—“AICT (AI+ICT)” and AX (AI Transformation)—and verify the competitiveness of its core infrastructure.

Board members first visited the “AI Innovation Center” within the Mokdong 2 Data Center, which serves as KTCorporation’s infrastructure technology demonstration hub. There, they conducted an in-depth review of the core technological capabilities of the artificial intelligence data center (AIDC), including the latest graphics processing unit (GPU)-based AI servers, AI-dedicated network technologies, and next-generation cooling and power solutions.

They then moved on to the KTCorporation Hyehwa Central Office, which serves as the backbone of the national telecommunications network. The board toured key facilities—including the International Communications Room, the IP Backbone Operations Room, and the telecommunications ducts—to verify the stable operation of domestic and international internet networks and wireless core networks, as well as the emergency response systems.

Kim Yong-heon, Chairman of the KTCorporation Board of Directors, stated, “KTCorporation is responsible for South Korea’s digital infrastructure by ensuring the stable, 24-hour operation of the national telecommunications network, even at times when the public is not consciously aware of it,” adding, “The network operation capabilities and technological expertise we have accumulated over many years are KTCorporation’s unique competitive advantage and the core of our identity as an AX Platform Company.”

He continued, “The Board of Directors will continuously assess the competitiveness of our core telecommunications and AI infrastructure and faithfully fulfill its role of oversight and support to ensure the company’s growth strategy is implemented without a hitch.”
