In a recent episode of “Idol Assignment,” Hyunjae of the group THE BOYZ visited Graphy Inc.’s headquarters and experienced the entire process of manufacturing digital orthodontic appliances.
Hyun-jae participated directly in the entire production process of shape-memory orthodontic appliances (SMA), starting with intraoral scanning to acquire digital dental data, followed by design, 3D printing, post-processing, and quality inspection. During the process, he observed how digital data is transformed into actual orthodontic appliances and experienced the 3D printing-based production system firsthand.
They also had the opportunity to try on clear aligners custom-made based on their own oral scan data. After trying them on, they commented, “They’re much more comfortable than I expected,” having experienced the entire digital orthodontic process—from digital scanning to production and actual wear.
The broadcast also featured the process by which Graphy Inc. produces shape-memory aligners using its proprietary material technology and 3D printing-based manufacturing technology. The company explained that this broadcast served as an opportunity to introduce digital orthodontic solutions and digital dentistry technology to the general public in a more accessible way.
Graphy Inc. representative stated, “The participants showed great interest in the entire manufacturing process and actively engaged in the hands-on experience,” adding, “We could see them naturally experiencing the product’s features and the digital orthodontic system while wearing the aligners they had made themselves.”
Meanwhile, Graphy Inc. is the first company in the world to commercialize direct 3D-printed shape-memory orthodontic appliances (SMA) and is targeting the global digital dentistry market based on its digital orthodontic solutions and medical-grade material technologies.
