[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] Netflix’s variety show “Do Driver” has confirmed production of Season 6. Immediately after wrapping up Season 5, the show has announced a new season, continuing its run as a popular long-running variety program.

Netflix announced on the 17th, “Along with the release of the final episode of ‘Do Driver Season 5,’ we will premiere ‘Do Driver Season 6’ starting on the 8th of next month.”
“Driver” is a variety show featuring Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Sook, Jo Se-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and Jang Woo-young, blending games, travel, costumes, and talk segments. The show has secured a loyal fan base with its offbeat skits and unpredictable chemistry, and Season 5 garnered recognition for both its popularity and artistic merit by being nominated for Best Variety Program at the “5th Blue Dragon Series Awards.”
Season 5 will come to a close with its final episode, set to air on the 18th. In the finale, as the members dive into the “Prison Game,” Jo Se-ho and Joo Woo-jae will face off in a two-line poem battle where their pride is on the line.
Jo Se-ho, who was recently told by the production team that he “isn’t funny,” sets out to restore his reputation. He confidently opens the round with a couplet using Jang Woo-young as the subject—“Jang Woo-young, our hero”—but Jang Woo-young himself offers a cold assessment, saying, “That’s a bit over the top” and “It doesn’t resonate.” Undeterred, Jo Se-ho continues to churn out couplets nonstop, launching a “barrage of verses.”
Joo Woo-jae’s counterattack is no less formidable. Choosing “kimchi” as his theme, he recited a whimsical two-line poem—“The imbalance between steam and chicken”—and even recreated comedian Heo Kyung-hwan’s signature move, turning the set into a sea of laughter. It’s reported that Hong Jin-kyung burst out laughing at his all-out performance, remarking, “Woo-jae’s ears are even red.”
The production team has hinted that, as this is the final showdown wrapping up Season 5, the members’ variety show skills will reach new heights. With Season 6 just around the corner, all eyes are on “D-Driver” to see what kind of final story they’ll present to cap off the season with laughter.
