[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] JYP Entertainment’s (JYP) global girl group GIRLSET is kicking off its domestic activities in earnest with a new song. This move aims to expand its reach among K-pop fans, building on the momentum it has gained in overseas markets.

According to JYP on the 17th, GIRLSET released their new single “CHAT” and the title track of the same name at 1:00 p.m. that day. To mark their comeback, they will make consecutive appearances on KBS2’s “Music Bank,” MBC’s “Show! Music Core,” and SBS’s “Inkigayo,” marking their first appearance on domestic music show stages since their debut.
The new song “CHAT” is a hyper-pop track featuring intense rhythms and a multi-layered sound. Through a music video that combines hip-hop-based choreography with stylish visuals, the group plans to showcase its new musical direction.
Global hitmakers also contributed to the production. The Stereotypes—the production team behind Bruno Mars’ “That’s What I Like” and “24K Magic”—handled production, while August Rigo, who created Justin Bieber’s “You Smile” and BTS’s “ON,” participated in the songwriting.
Galset has already demonstrated significant growth in the global market with their previously released track “Tweak.” On the first day of its release, the song recorded approximately 640,000 streams on Spotify and was played over 270,000 times in the U.S. alone, achieving more than double the results of their previous single, “Little Miss.” On Apple Music, it also recorded over 180,000 streams on its first day of release, with a significant portion of those streams coming from the U.S. The music video also proved the group’s global appeal by reaching No. 1 on YouTube’s Worldwide Music Video Trends and ranking high on the U.S. Trending Music chart upon its release.
Starting with this comeback, Girlset will expand its promotional activities both domestically and internationally. Following their activities in Seoul, they plan to tour major U.S. cities—including New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles—to promote their new song. With Girlset having steadily built their presence in the global market, all eyes are on whether this promotional campaign will allow them to firmly establish their foothold in the domestic market as well.
