JTBC announced that Ji Sung will appear on “Newsroom,” airing at 6:20 p.m. on the 18th. Ji Sung is currently starring as Park Hae-gang, the former boss of the Oasis Gang, in the JTBC Saturday-Sunday drama “Apartment,” where he is receiving critical acclaim for his performance that seamlessly blends comedy and noir. In the drama, he plays a central role by vividly portraying a character who devises a massive scheme involving an apartment where 10 billion won is hidden, all to rescue Park Yong-man (played by Jung Jin-young), a father-like figure who is incarcerated in a detention center.
The drama’s popularity is also on the rise. The second episode, which aired on the 12th, set a new series high with a peak viewership rating of 6.5% per minute in the Seoul metropolitan area, an average of 5.8% in the Seoul metropolitan area, and a national average of 5.4%, according to Nielsen Korea. It continues to generate buzz by ranking No. 1 on Netflix’s “Top 10 Series in South Korea” list.
