[Edaily Starin KIM HYUNSIK Reporter] Actor Lee Ju-seung created a heartwarming moment by presenting his grandmother with the trophy he won on “Director Survival.”

The episode of the MBC variety show “I Live Alone” that aired on the 17th featured Lee Ju-seung presenting his maternal grandmother with the first-place trophy from “Director Survival.”
In the episode, Lee Ju-seung visited his parents’ home and busily prepared food alongside his mother. Traces of “Coco,” his pet dog who crossed the Rainbow Bridge last February, remained in his mother’s house.
Lee Ju-seung said, “After Coco passed away, I tried to visit my mother more often, but she told me, ‘I’d rather you didn’t come.’ She said, ‘I want to spend a few weeks with Coco.’ She told me she used to walk the same route as if she were taking Coco for a walk, carrying Coco’s urn.”
Watching this on VCR, Goo Sung-hwan shared a story about how Lee Ju-seung’s mother had cooked for him when he was struggling after his dog “Kkotbuni” crossed the Rainbow Bridge. He then added to the sadness by revealing that “Coco” had also crossed the Rainbow Bridge just two weeks after “Kkotbuni” had passed away.

Lee Ju-seung packed the food he had prepared with his mother and headed to his grandmother’s house. Having had to say goodbye to both “Coco” and his grandfather, Lee Ju-seung explained, “My mother and I visited my grandmother’s house to help ease her loneliness since she lives alone.”
Lee Ju-seung presented his grandmother with the “Director Survival” championship trophy and a certificate for the 100 million won prize money. Upon seeing the trophy won by her grandson, who had been nurturing his dream of becoming a director, his grandmother held it in both hands and shed tears of joy, saying, “Grandpa would have been so happy.”
Lee Ju-seung recently appeared on ENA’s short drama director survival show “Directors’ Arena,” where he produced “The Girl Next Door Who Is a Murderer,” taking on the roles of director, screenwriter, and lead actor, and went on to win the competition with this work.
Lee Ju-seung revealed, “Ever since I directed my first short film, my grandfather called me ‘Director Lee.’” He continued, “My grandfather passed away while I was writing the final script. I think I immersed myself even more in the work to try to forget my grief,” adding, “I decided to donate the entire prize money in accordance with my grandfather’s wishes, as he lived a life of service and generosity.”
