[Edaily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION(028260) ’s Fashion Division is setting out to discover the next generation of fashion designers.

SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION’s Fashion Division operates the Samsung Fashion Design Fund (SFDF), and it announced on the 20th that it will be accepting applications for the 22nd SFDF from the 27th of this month through the 7th of next month.

The SFDF is a designer support program established by SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION Fashion Division in 2005 to nurture emerging designers active on the global stage. Over the past 20 years, it has discovered 67 teams and provided approximately 5.2 billion won in support.

Eligible applicants are Korean designers based in international fashion capitals. They must operate an independent brand that has been in operation for five years or less and have a track record of presenting new collections each season. Applicants can submit their applications via the official SFDF website from 10:00 a.m. on the 27th to 5:00 p.m. on the 7th of next month.

Judging will be conducted by the Design Director and Division Head of SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION’s Fashion Division, along with external fashion industry experts. Based on lookbooks and physical samples, the selection process will involve a series of evaluations, with the final winning team to be announced this November.

The winning team will receive a prize of $100,000 to support the expansion of their global business. They will also be given the opportunity to exclusively showcase their collection at the flagship store of “Beaker,” a curated boutique operated by SAMSUNG C&T CORPORATION Fashion Division. SFDF plans to release interviews with the winner and content introducing their collection via its official YouTube channel and Instagram account.
