SAMPYO Cement Co., Ltd. announced on the 20th that it has published the “2025 SAMPYO Cement Co., Ltd. ESG Report,” which summarizes the company’s sustainable management achievements and its mid- to long-term environmental, social, and governance (ESG) strategies.
In this report, the company has refined its “double materiality assessment,” which considers both the company’s impact on society and the environment and the impact of external factors on corporate value. The aim is to strengthen management standards by designating climate change response and occupational safety and health as top priority issues and incorporating ethical and compliant management along with sound corporate governance as new issues.
The company presented six core strategies for sustainable growth: △ responding to climate change △ building a resource-recycling society △ establishing a culture that respects people △ shared growth with local communities △ establishing transparent corporate governance △ protecting shareholder rights and practicing fair management.
In the Environment (E) sector, the company is actively pursuing three major initiatives—fuel transition, raw material and product innovation, and technological innovation—with the goal of achieving “Carbon Neutrality by 2050.” In particular, it highlighted its success in reducing greenhouse gas emissions throughout the entire production process by expanding “BlueMent,” its eco-friendly, low-carbon blended cement brand.
In the Social (S) category, the company presented the implementation status of its “Three-Year Occupational Safety and Health Roadmap” designed to strengthen company-wide safety competitiveness. It has established a safety-first workplace culture by expanding on-site communication channels and conducting proactive risk assessments. Furthermore, it has reinforced a corporate culture of mutual growth and respect by enhancing its human rights impact assessments.
In the Governance (G) category, the company disclosed the operational status of specialized committees under the Board of Directors—including the Audit Committee, the Related-Party Transactions Committee, and the ESG Committee—to ensure transparent and accountable decision-making. It also highlighted various activities centered on a dedicated compliance organization aimed at embedding ethical management and fostering a culture of compliance.
A SAMPYO Cement Co., Ltd. official stated, “We will continue to practice unwavering ESG management even amid rapidly changing industry paradigms to pave the way for a sustainable future,” adding, “Moving forward, we will strive to become a leading company in the cement industry’s sustainability, grounded in environmental protection, the creation of social value, and transparent corporate governance.”
