[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] From film and music to crime, journalism, and the performing arts. The Jecheon International Music & Film Festival provides a platform for figures from diverse fields to engage in deep dialogue with audiences through the medium of film.

The 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival (JIMFF) announced the guest lineup for its flagship program event, “Talk To You,” on the 20th. This year’s participants include profiler Kwon Il-yong, singer Kim Yoon-ah, actress and director Ryu Hyun-kyung, director Bong Joon-ho, journalist Son Suk-hee, director Lee Myung-se, and actress Jeon Mi-do.
“Talk To You” is a program that combines film screenings with conversation. Film directors, actors, musicians, and cultural and artistic figures each personally select a work that holds special meaning for them and share their memories and thoughts about the film with the audience. By going beyond a simple analysis of the work to offer a fresh perspective on the film through an individual’s life and point of view, the program showcases the unique character of the Jecheon International Music & Film Festival.
Kwon Il-yong, South Korea’s first-ever profiler and a Ph.D. in criminology, plans to offer fresh insights into the characters and events in the films based on his expertise in criminal psychology and investigative experience. Kim Yoon-ah, vocalist of the rock band Jaurim and a singer-songwriter, will introduce the films through her own musical sensibility and perspective.
Ryu Hyun-kyung, who has worked as both an actress and a director, will also meet with the audience. She recently expanded her creative scope by taking on the roles of director, screenwriter, editor, producer, distributor, and lead actress for the feature film *Don’t Confess*.
Director Bong Joon-ho’s participation is also drawing attention. Having combined genre-based entertainment with social commentary through films such as *Memories of Murder*, *The Host*, *Mother*, *Snowpiercer*, *Okja*, *Parasite*, and *Mickey 17*, Director Bong plans to personally share stories behind the films he has selected.
Drawing on his extensive interview experience and perspective as a journalist, Son Suk-hee will facilitate conversations that bridge cinema and society. Director Lee Myung-se will engage with the audience by focusing on the sophisticated mise-en-scène and visual language he has showcased in films such as *My Love, My Bride*, *No Mercy*, *Detective Duelist*, and *M*.
Jeon Mi-do, who has worked across theater, musicals, TV dramas, and film, will also appear as a guest. Having delivered nuanced performances in *Hospital Playlist*, *Connection*, and *The Man Who Lives with the King*, she is expected to share her experiences and perspectives on works from an actor’s standpoint.
This edition of “Talk to You” holds great significance in that figures active in different fields will interpret film in their own unique ways. It is expected to serve as a forum for dialogue where crime and society, music and acting, directing and journalism intersect through a single film.
“Talk to You” will take place throughout Jecheon City from September 3 to 8, during the 22nd Jecheon International Music & Film Festival. The films to be screened for each program and the detailed schedule will be announced at a later date.
