[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] The movie "Gyeongju Journey," which is generating excitement simply based on its star-studded cast—including actors Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam, and Lee Yeon—is set to hit theaters next month. The released trailer features the mother, “Ok-sil” (Lee Jung-eun), with a solemn expression, alongside her three daughters—the eldest, “Jang-ju” (Gong Hyo-jin); the second, “Young-ju” (Park So-dam); and the youngest, “Dong-ju” (Lee Yeon)—carrying a mysterious, heavy object. While the bold premise—“We’ve kidnapped the murderer who killed my daughter”—builds tension, a yellow van driving endlessly down a foggy road captures the viewers’ attention. The taglines “The trip is an alibi; the goal is revenge” and “A family trip to kill, exactly as planned, begins” further heighten the intrigue. Highlights are expected to include a desperate chase, car chases, and intense hand-to-hand combat. “Gyeongju Journey” is the first commercial film by director Kim Mi-jo, whose directing skills were recognized with her debut film “Seagull.” Notably, the film received critical acclaim at the 24th Florence Korean Film Festival held last March and was honored with the Audience Award. It opens on the 26th of next month.
