[Edaily Reporter JAEMIN SONG ] SamsungElectronics has won the “Daesang” for the eighth consecutive year, led by its home appliances featuring AI-based energy-saving technology. SamsungElectronics announced on the 21st that it has won the Energy Daesang for the eighth consecutive year at the “29th Energy Winner Awards,” hosted by the Consumer and Citizen’s Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment and the Korea Energy Agency.

This year’s Daesang was awarded to the “Bespoke AI Wind-Free Combo Gallery Pro” air conditioner. This product is designed to analyze the user’s environment using AI and advanced sensors to optimize energy consumption. In addition to the Daesang, it also received the Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment Award.

Its flagship feature, “Absence Power Saving,” uses a motion radar to detect user activity; if no movement is detected for a certain period, it either reduces cooling to a low level or turns off the power entirely, reducing energy consumption by up to 42%. The “Comfort Dehumidification” feature also uses a humidity sensor to precisely control the refrigerant, saving up to 30% more energy compared to conventional dehumidification functions.

The “Infinite Line Hood-Integrated Induction Cooktop” received the Energy Technology Award. While delivering powerful heating capacity of up to 7,400W, it maintains a Grade 1 energy efficiency rating. It enhances efficiency and convenience through features such as “Smart Mode,” which automatically adjusts suction power using an air quality sensor, as well as remote power shut-off and boil detection.

Moon Jong-seung, Vice President of SamsungElectronics’ DA Business Division, said, “By winning the Daesang for eight consecutive years since 2019, we have once again demonstrated our competitive edge in high-efficiency home appliance technology,” adding, “We will continue to advance our differentiated energy technologies to introduce innovative energy solutions.”
