The company announced on the 21st that it has completed the shipment of the first batch of products as part of its exclusive distribution partnership with Chinese sports distributor Chenma Sports. Previously, BARREL Co., Ltd. signed an exclusive distribution agreement with Chenma Sports for the Chinese market, valued at approximately 26 billion won based on export prices. With this shipment, the supply and sale of products targeting the Chinese market have begun in earnest.

Chengma Sports is China’s largest sports distribution company, operating over 60 global sports brands, including Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour. It possesses the operational capabilities to manage major e-commerce platforms such as Tmall and JD.com, as well as a logistics and distribution network covering the entire country.

On the 16th, BARREL Co., Ltd. officially opened its official brand store on the Chinese e-commerce platform Tmall. Considering the characteristics of the Chinese market, where online-centric consumption is thriving, BARREL Co., Ltd. plans to utilize Tmall as its core sales channel.

The company intends to accelerate its initial market entry by leveraging Chenma Sports’ local distribution and platform management capabilities, while incorporating sales data and consumer feedback gathered on Tmall into product planning and operations.

BARREL Co., Ltd. recently conducted market research in China to analyze consumer trends, purchasing behaviors, and preferred product categories. Based on these findings, the company plans to sequentially launch products exclusively for the Chinese market starting this September. Building on its established product competitiveness in the water sports sector—such as swimwear and rash guards—BARREL Co., Ltd. intends to accelerate its expansion into the local market by expanding its product portfolio to reflect Chinese consumers’ tastes and lifestyles.

Going forward, the company plans to increase its lineup of China-exclusive products, focusing on items and categories whose market potential has been verified using sales data from major local distribution channels, including Tmall.

A BARREL Co., Ltd. official stated, “Our China business has moved beyond the contract signing stage and has entered the phase where actual supply and sales are beginning,” adding, “Based on sales data, we will continue to strengthen our product competitiveness and expand our range of products and categories tailored specifically for China, thereby cultivating the Chinese market into a new growth engine for BARREL Co., Ltd.’s revenue.”
