[Edaily Reporter KIM YOON-JEONG ] Hyundai pharm is trading higher in early trading. This is believed to be due to the government’s move to begin full-scale discussions on the introduction of “Mifjin,” a medication used for pregnancy termination, which has boosted investor sentiment.

According to MP Doctor on the 21st, as of 9:30 a.m. today, Hyundai pharm(004310)is trading at 7,050 won, up 830 won (13.34%) from the previous trading day.
Hyundai pharm previously signed an agreement with the British pharmaceutical company Linepharma International in 2021 for the domestic distribution rights and exclusive supply of Mifjin, an oral abortion drug. Since then, the company has applied for product approval from the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety three times, but the applications were repeatedly rejected. Most recently, it resubmitted an application for product approval in December 2024.
However, as the government begins serious discussions on the matter, expectations regarding the possibility of introducing Mifjin into the domestic market are once again gaining traction.
Previously, President Lee Jae-myung remarked during a Cabinet meeting on the 14th regarding Mifegyn, “We must ensure it can be administered appropriately.” As expectations grew that the domestic introduction of Mifegyn could gain momentum, Hyundai pharm hit its daily price limit on the 14th and continued its upward trend for three consecutive trading days through the 16th.
