[London (UK) = E-Daily Reporter Shin Yeong-bin ] SamsungElectronics(005930)has unveiled the “Galaxy Watch Ultra2,” which features the largest battery and brightest display of any Galaxy Watch to date. The “Galaxy Watch9,” which focuses on daily health management, incorporates new features such as vital signs and a heart health score, allowing users to detect physical changes early and adjust their exercise and rest plans accordingly.

SamsungElectronics unveiled the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Watch 9 at “Galaxy Unpacked 2026,” held on the 22nd at Old Billingsgate in London, UK.

Roh Tae-moon, CEO of SamsungElectronics and Head of the MX Business Division, said, “These new products mark a significant milestone in the digital health experience, designed to help users lead healthier lives through preventive health management,” adding, “They will provide practical insights to support proactive health management.”

Ultra2
with 35% More Battery Life… Supports Even Diving
The Galaxy Watch Ultra2 is equipped with an 800mAh battery, which is 35% larger than its predecessor. By adopting Qualcomm’s “Snapdragon Wear Elite” platform, central processing unit (CPU) performance has improved by 32% and graphics processing unit (GPU) performance by 19%. GPS tracking accuracy and data processing speed have also been improved.

Thanks to a redesigned internal structure, the battery capacity was increased while the body thickness was reduced by 12% compared to its predecessor, to 10.7 mm. It weighs 61.5 g. The silicone band is lightweight and soft, improving comfort during extended wear.

The display supports a peak local brightness of 5,000 nits in bright sunlight. SamsungElectronics explained that this is the brightest level among smartwatches released as of June 2026. It also features a titanium frame, 10ATM water resistance, IP69K water and dust resistance, and meets the U.S. military durability standard MIL-STD-810H.

Specialized outdoor features have also been expanded. The newly added “Trail Running” mode tracks elevation, climbing progress, and terrain conditions to help users adjust their running pace. It also offers a “Hydration Guide” that measures sweat loss relative to body weight to notify users when they need to drink water.

The Ultra2 has obtained EN13319 certification, the international safety standard for diving equipment. When submerged, it records diving information such as depth, time, and water temperature. SamsungElectronics plans to collaborate with diving equipment manufacturer Mares to develop a dedicated app that will provide guidance on ascent and descent speeds, as well as safe decompression times.

The dedicated app will be available in the second half of this year, and these features will be exclusively available on the Ultra2 among Wear OS-based smartwatches for the next two years.

Galaxy Watch 9 Battery Capacity Increased by 20%… 24-Hour Health Monitoring
The Galaxy Watch 9 is designed for extended daily wear and focuses on tracking sleep and activity data. It retains the “cushion design,” where a square case wraps around a round display, and features an aluminum body and a silicone band.

The Watch 9 is also equipped with the Snapdragon Wear Elite platform. The 40mm model’s battery capacity is 390mAh—a 20% increase over its predecessor—while the 44mm model features a 445mAh battery. The maximum screen brightness is 3,000 nits.

Both the 40mm and 44mm models of the Watch 9 are 8.6mm thick. The 40mm model weighs 31.5g, while the 44mm model weighs 34g. Both models support 5ATM and IP68 water and dust resistance, as well as the MIL-STD-810H durability standard.

Alerts You to Changes in Your Physical Condition and Suggests Exercise and Rest
The new watch series does more than just measure and display physical data; it analyzes individual baselines and trends to provide personalized recommendations.

“Vital Signs” measures five metrics: heart rate during sleep, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature, and blood oxygen saturation. It establishes individual baseline values based on data accumulated over a certain period and alerts the user when changes deviate from the norm.

The “Heart Health Score” synthesizes trends in sleep, activity levels, body composition, and vascular stress to display a score. It also suggests lifestyle habits to maintain heart health.

“Daily Aerobic Load” analyzes the strain placed on the heart from daily activities and exercise to advise whether to proceed with a scheduled workout or take a rest. “Physical Fitness Index” synthesizes individual fitness metrics—such as body composition and cardiorespiratory endurance—to provide information on how to improve athletic performance.

A hearing management feature has also been added that detects and alerts users to harmful levels of ambient noise and displays records of prolonged noise exposure.

The existing sleep apnea detection feature has been improved from simply alerting users to breathing disorders during sleep to now displaying the severity of the disorder. SamsungElectronics explained that it has received additional approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for these AI-powered enhancements.
