According to her agency, Canvas, on the 22nd, Bolbbalgan4 will release a remake of “Summer, Please” at 6:00 p.m. via various online music platforms.
“Summer, Please” is a summer anthem that expresses the desire to fall in love with someone met by chance on the beach. Since Indigo released it as the title track of their first studio album in 2002, the song has enjoyed steady popularity for over 20 years.
Bolbbalgan4 commissioned singer-songwriter Jeokjae to arrange the track, completing a version of “Summer, Please” that emphasizes an acoustic sound. They also refined some of the lyrics. They changed “After meeting that girl in a bikini” to “After meeting him in a shirt” and “I’ll even quit smoking” to “I’ll even quit watching dramas,” infusing the song with their own unique style and sensibility.
Previously, Bolbbalgan4 attempted a cover of “Summer, Please” six years ago. The video posted on YouTube surpassed 1 million views.
An agency representative stated, “Every summer, fans have continued to request the official release of ‘Summer, Please.’ The release of this remake is a project designed to respond to the fans’ long wait.”
