According to the Associated Press on the 21st (local time), Kaylee Hotle died in a traffic accident in Maryland. She was 18 years old. According to a statement from the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office in Maryland, the vehicle veered off a two-lane, two-way road and collided with a drainage structure. Police believe speeding was the cause of the crash and are investigating the specific circumstances. Kaley Hotle was transported to a hospital but was pronounced dead. The Sheriff’s Office stated that the driver’s injuries were not life-threatening and that the other passenger refused medical treatment. The deceased began her career at the age of 9 through an advertisement for a video messaging service for the deaf and hard of hearing. She gained recognition for her role as Gia in the film *Godzilla vs. Kong* (2021) and its sequel, *Godzilla vs. Kong: New Empire* (2024). She was also nominated for “Best Young Actor” at the 2024 Saturn Awards. Raised by deaf parents, the deceased was also deaf and fluent in sign language. Her mother is a Korean-American who was born in Korea and adopted to the United States.
