Singer and actress Ahn Hee-yeon, a member of the girl group EXID, made these remarks on the afternoon of the 22nd at 2:30 p.m. during the production press conference for the new KBS 2TV weekend drama *Love Is Coming*, held at The Saint in Guro-gu, Seoul, as she shared her thoughts on resuming her acting career after a three-year hiatus.
Hani, who debuted as an EXID member in 2012, expanded her career into acting and has since appeared in various productions, including “XX,” “Not Yet Thirty,” “Fantasy G-Spot,” and “Call It Love.”
Ahn Hee-yeon took a three-year hiatus from the entertainment industry following her appearance in “Say It’s Love,” which aired in 2023. This was due to controversy surrounding the death of a patient at a hospital run by her fiancé, psychiatrist Yang Jae-woong. Ahn Hee-yeon and Yang Jae-woong even postponed their wedding, originally scheduled for September 2024, in the wake of the controversy.
When asked about her feelings regarding her return to the entertainment industry, Ahn Hee-yeon said, “I feel apologetic about discussing my personal matters here,” adding, “So many people are putting their whole hearts into their work. My greatest hope is not to hinder those efforts.”
She continued, “Of course, it’s a huge burden, but since that’s something I have to shoulder, I’m doing my best to stay strong.”

“Love Is Coming” is a drama that simultaneously depicts the romance between Han Gyu-rim, an employee at a modest side dish shop, and Kim Mu-jin, the “silver spoon” owner-chef of an Italian restaurant, as well as the family histories of the two main characters.
Han Gyu-rim, played by Ahn Hee-yeon, is a character who gave up on going to college and now supports her younger siblings after her family fell into poverty due to her father’s divorce and remarriage, as well as her stepmother’s betrayal. Han Gyu-rim, who once thought love was a luxury, begins to change after meeting Kim Mu-jin.
Ahn Hee-yeon said, “She’s a character who has many similarities and differences with me,” adding, “I want to offer comfort, hope, and love to many people through the character of Han Gyu-rim.”
When discussing her chemistry with Ha Seok-jin, who plays Kim Mu-jin, she shared a behind-the-scenes story: “Before filming, I wanted to get to know him better, so we went hiking together.” Ahn Hee-yeon added, “Thanks to the time we spent getting to know each other through deep conversations, we’ve grown much closer,” and continued, “It’s been a while since I’ve filmed a drama, so I still have a lot to learn, but he’s been helping me out here and there in a ‘tsundere’ sort of way, so I’m approaching this role with a grateful heart.”
Ha Seok-jin responded, “I thought an actress returning to the set after a long absence would have a lot of energy she’d want to unleash, and that’s exactly how it turned out,” adding, “I’m happy to be acting alongside such an energetic actress.”
“Love Is Coming” is the follow-up to “I Prescribe Love” and will air every Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. starting on the 25th. Planned as a 50-episode series, the drama is led by writer Lee Kyung-hee, known for “I’m Sorry, I Love You” and “Carelessly, Passionately,” and director Hong Seok-gu, who directed “The Queen’s House,” “Beauty and the Pure-hearted Man,” and “My Only One.”
