[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] KOSDAQ-listed company HYULIM A-TECH(078590)announced on the 23rd that it is accelerating the acquisition process of DIO Corporation, a company possessing artificial intelligence (AI) and specialized equipment technologies, and is set to make a full-scale entry into the AI defense and public safety robotics market. (Photo courtesy of HYULIM A-TECH) At a recent extraordinary general meeting of shareholders, HYULIM A-TECH completed an amendment to its articles of incorporation to add AIDIOS’s core robotics businesses—including the manufacture of military robot components, landmine detection and removal, and explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) robots—as new business objectives. This establishes the institutional foundation for immediate entry into the AI defense robotics market, in line with the completion of the acquisition of a stake (51% or more) in AIDIOS. Since its establishment in 2021, IDIOS has been a technology-intensive, small-to-medium-sized AI robotics company that has independently developed and manufactured core defense and security equipment ranging from explosive detection to disposal. Through this acquisition, HYULIM A-TECH plans to gradually transform itself from a mere manufacturing company into a specialist in “AI-based integrated unmanned intelligent defense and counter-terrorism robot solutions,” thereby driving a re-rating of its value in the rapidly growing physical AI and specialized robotics markets. In particular, “Maxpider QR,” a hyper-connected EOD quadruped robot system that serves as the company’s key weapon for market penetration, adopts the ROS2-based universal connectivity bus—a hot topic in the global robotics industry. The company explains that through its patent-pending “Docking Station and Docking Station Mission Equipment Combination Equipped Therewith” for quadruped robots, it possesses unparalleled scalability, enabling the immediate integration and operation of a wide variety of heterogeneous counter-terrorism equipment onto the robot via a “plug-and-play” method in just one day. In addition, by applying its proprietary patented 3D X-ray technology and AI vision analysis technology that fuses LLM and VLM (Large Language and Vision Models), the company has incorporated cutting-edge AI decision-making capabilities that autonomously identify concealed hazardous materials within two seconds. The company also emphasized that it has secured the highest level of defense security by implementing a KCMVP (National Cryptographic Module Validation Program)-certified multi-band mesh link, which completely blocks the leakage of battlefield information at its source. A HYULIM A-TECH official stated, “We have completed the institutional preparations to combine the AI robot capabilities of both companies through an extraordinary general meeting,” adding, “We will smoothly finalize the remaining acquisition procedures and rapidly emerge as a global leader in unmanned intelligent defense and security robot solutions ready for operational deployment.”
