According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 23rd, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” recorded 356,425 advance tickets as of 8:30 a.m. that day, overtaking “Hope” to claim the top spot in overall advance ticket sales.
The film has garnered attention for surpassing 300,000 advance tickets at the fastest pace of any movie released this year. It also marks the fastest advance ticket sales pace within the “Tom-Spidey” (Tom Holland’s Spider-Man) series.
Second place went to Director Na Hong-jin’s “Hope,” with 181,240 tickets sold. Third place was taken by Christopher Nolan’s new film “Odyssey,” set to open next month, which recorded 84,743 advance ticket sales.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is an action blockbuster that follows Peter Parker (Tom Holland)—whose existence has been erased from everyone’s memory following “No Way Home”—as he faces a mysterious enemy who remembers him and gains uncontrollable powers due to a DNA mutation, forcing him to confront a new threat.
Expectations are high to see if *Brand New Day* can continue the popularity of the *Spider-Man* series, following in the footsteps of *Homecoming*, *Far From Home*, and *No Way Home*. It is set to open in South Korea on the 29th, ahead of its North American release.
