According to distributor Showbox on the 23rd, the film “Collective” will begin streaming on Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) and cable TV video-on-demand (VOD) services starting today. “Collective” is available on various platforms, including Genie TV, Btv, and U+tv, as well as Wavve, Coupang Play, Apple TV, Watcha, and YouTube.
“Collective” tells the story of survivors trapped in a quarantined space due to an unidentified infection, as they face off against infected individuals who have evolved in ways unlike anything seen before. The film sought to differentiate itself with a premise featuring a new form of zombie possessing collective intelligence, garnering attention even before its release as an invited entry for the Midnight Screening section at the 79th Cannes International Film Festival.
Its box office success continued after its release. The film held the No. 1 spot at the box office for 20 consecutive days and attracted a cumulative audience of 5.94 million, securing a spot among this year’s top-grossing films.
